Great Destinations For A Snow Boarding Trip

FILED IN Ski Boarding No Comments

Now let me tell you about some of the greatest places that there are to snow board in the world. I really mean I am going to tell you about the places, that if you are a snow boarder you simply must visit if you want to have experienced the greatest snow boarding that is out there.

Solden in Austria

This amazing resort is about 50 miles away from Innsbruck and a further 20 miles away from Otztal. This amazing place has three killer slopes that have three of the speediest lifts in the world that also have some of the best views that I have ever seen. At least one night in the week the slopes open up to give you a chance to go night boarding in style. There is also a firework display and everything else that you can imagine to make the night a success, you can actually go for a drink in between runs and really enjoy all the aspects of snow boarding whilst drinking at the same time. If you have never been night boarding before this is something that you have to check out.

St Anton in Austria

St Anton has some of the best terrain that I have ever seen and that is one of the reasons that I think this place is up here in the best snow boarding destinations. If you like to free style then this is undoubtedly the place to be doing it. The slopes are not very forgiving and unless you like high speed, high octane fun then you should probably go elsewhere. The slope has amazing amounts of powder and really helps and boarder to accelerate a lot faster than they are used to.

Tignes in France

Tignes is without a doubt the place to go if you want to go snowboarding in France. Tignes was one of the first locations to actually welcome snowboarders whilst other felt that skiing was the only thing that you can do on the slopes. But let me tell you one thing ladies and gentleman. This place is also the top place to learn your trade, with a wide range of training courses for those that want to teach snow boarding for a living. If you are looking for tree runs then this is not the place to hang, but it certainly has a lot of excellent runs that you simply must try.

XCAPE BUILDING SNOWZONE in the UK

This is the best in indoor entertainment that is out their. If you think playing your play station is indoor entertainment then you really have another thing coming folks.  You only pay an hourly fee for the time you spend on the slopes and that even includes boot hire and hiring of a board. The fact is that this is such as enclosed area, and there are instructors all over the place watching what you do. When I went I got a lot of helpful feedback from instructors and at their own free will. A very good place to learn.

LAAX in Switzerland

This my friends is snow boarding heaven and a must, see and do for everyone. This place is home to some of the biggest snow boarding events in the world, and you never see a pro turn down an opportunity to strut his stuff on these challenging slopes. When an event happens here it really is seen as being cool, as well as whatever else. The top DJs, singers and pop stars all want to come along to associate themselves with whatever is going on. This place has half-pipes galore for those who would rather flip than anything else. The ski lift is also good and for many beginners this is the most enjoyable part of their visit. You will find some challenging slopes as well as other slopes that are tailored for beginners.

5 Great Restaurants on Siesta Key, Florida

FILED IN Great Place No Comments

Siesta Key is a gorgeous barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, Florida. People flock to the island every year because they love the very relaxed, bohemian, old Florida beach feel. Siesta Key beach is known for its white sand that is 99 percent quartz. Even on hot summer days the sand feels cool and refreshing on under your feet. Other exciting activities include fishing, walking the beach, swimming, snorkeling, boating, jet skiing, parasailing and dining out.

Here are 5 great restaurants that I enjoy on Siesta Key:

1. Anna’s Deli and Sandwich Shop – 217 Avenida Madera, 941-349-7790 & 6535 Midnight Pass Road, 941-349-4888.

Anna’s has been around since 1971. I love their sandwiches. My favorite sandwich is the Surfer. It is made up of ham, turkey, swiss, cucumber and Anna’s famous sauce. If you are looking for a casual and affordable place give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

2. The Broken Egg – 140 Avenida Messina, 941-346-2750

I took some clients to the Broken Egg a few weeks ago and they loved it. Established in 1984 the Broken Egg has been an island tradition for many years. It is really popular as a breakfast and lunch spot in the Siesta Key village. A few of the items they serve for breakfast is deep dish quiche du jour, norwegian smoked salmon & bagel and mexican skillet. A few weeks ago I ate the smoked salmon and bagel and it was scrumptious. For lunch you can always order the Dickie V Burger named after one a frequent customer Dick Vitale.

3. Daiquiri Deck – 5250 Ocean Boulevard, 941-349-8697

Here is another popular dining and drinking destination on Siesta Key. It is a great place to enjoy a casual meal or some cocktails in your bathing suit. Located in the middle of the village this place is always happening. People from every age group can enjoy this fun restaurant. A few of their dishes include raw oysters, caribbean chicken cobb salad, mahi-mahi wrap, snapper wrapper, pepper-crusted tuna and coconut crusted tilapia. If you are looking for a relaxed, fun and outdoor place to eat try the Daiquiri Deck.

4. Midnight Pass Pub Restaurant – 8865 Midnight Pass Road, 941-349-2280

Located on the south end of Siesta Key this restaurant offers a good casual dining experience. It is right across the street from Turtle beach so you are likely to see people sandy and in their bathing suits. I took some clients to eat there recently and they loved the grouper salad. Since it is located on the south end of the island and away from Siesta Key village is a little quieter. Yet, it is still a great place to eat.

5. Ophelia’s on the Bay – 9105 Midnight Pass Road, 941-349-2212

If you want to impress someone take them to Ophelia’s on the Bay. This is one of the nicest restaurants in Sarasota. Located on the south end of Siesta Key and directly on the bay it provides a fabulous dining experience while you overlook the gorgeous views of the Sarasota bay. Ophelia’s is now in its 22nd season. It has an old Florida feel, without glitz, just a grand view of an unfettered sweep of water, mangroves, seabirds, and an occasional boat or dolphin gliding by. The restaurant is known for its evolving American cuisine style that is creatively combined with other world cuisines. Combining fresh seafood and fine meats with Florida grown produce, Ophelia’s offers a menu with a New World flare that changes frequently.

I have eaten at all of these Siesta Key restaurants and recommend them. They are all unique in their own way and I don’t think you will be disappointed. If you are visiting Siesta Key, Florida give them a try.

6 Places for a Great Holiday in Turkey

FILED IN Great Place No Comments

Turkey is a great place to go in the summer. The holiday destinations have everything you need for a great vacation. The weather is almost always perfect with sun the whole day. The beaches are great and the parties are going on all night. Finally the Turkeys kitchen is very good.

If you are the relaxing type, you can spend the whole day at one of the many great beaches. Here you can play beach volleyball or try one of the many water activities like: parasailing, jet skiing or the banana boat.

You can also have an active holiday with trekking in the mountains. Ravine climbing and mountain climbing are also getting very popular. If you like the water more, you can try rafting or sea kayaking. Diving is also a possibility.

Alanya is without doubt the most popular holiday destination in Turkey, with 10 % of all Turkey tourists staying here. The city does also have nice beaches and some interesting sights. The most popular is the 250 meter (820 feet) castle hill, which divides the two beaches. From the top you can see Alanya and the surrounding country.

The Water Planet Aquapark is one of Turkeys largest water parks; and a great place for kids. Here they can try everything from water slides and rafting to bungee jumping and crazy golf. After some branded goods shopping (both real and fake) in Alanya, you can finish your day in the many discos and bars.

Antalya is not like the other holiday destinations, which has developed from a small fisher village to a holiday destination. With its 500,000 residents you will see more locals than tourists. So a visit to Antalya will give you a better look at the real Turkey.

Because of the size of Antalya you find a lot of shopping centers, shopping streets and bazaars. But the city does also have many interesting sight; especially from the Roman Empire. Most of them are in the old town Kaleici, where you also can see old women preparing the dinner while their men are playing dominoes.

Belek is the number one golf destination in Turkey. In the area around the city there are eight golf courses; and many more are being built. It has been so popular to play golf in Belek that it can be necessary to book months ahead in the high season.

Belek is also a great destination even though you not play golf. The nature is fantastic and silence is incredible compared to the lively destinations like Side and Alanya. If you love bird, Belek will also seem like a paradise to you. And you can still find both shopping and water parks.

Kemer might have the most beautiful location in Turkey. Surrounded by the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains is this special place. The city does have a unique mix of the real Turkey and a modern holiday village. The city has an elegant marina, beautiful beach promenades and lively pedestrian streets.

For some sightseeing you can visit the ruins of Phaselis; the winter location for Alexander the Great. Another great place (especially for the kids) is the 55,000 m2 Moonlight Park in the middle of Kemer. Here you find a playground, restaurants, bars, discos; and even a dolphinarium

Like many other holiday destinations Kusadasi was originally a small fisher village. Today you find great Turkey food and a quieter nightlife with only a small bar street.

There is an international feeling in the city because of the many cruise ships; most of them come to see the famous sight Efesos (also called Efesus) near Kusadasi. So if you like smart cafes and international clothing brands, Kusadasi is the city for you.

If you are looking for a romantic holiday destination, Side might be the answer. In the old town you can see many Roman building. Do also walk a little away from the main street and take stroll among the well-preserved wood and stone houses in the quieter streets. Finish the day in the city theater, where concerts and theater has replaced the gladiator fights.

Side does also have a wild nightlife. You can even combine culture with pleasure in one of the most popular bars in the city; placed among the ruins of two 2nd century temples. For sun bathing Side has two beaches; the quit east beach and the livelier (and kid friendly) west beach.

10 Great Things to Do In Dubai

FILED IN Ski Stuff No Comments

Dubai presents itself as a tourist haven with many different options to spend your time. We recommend a few things to do and places to see to give your holiday the diversity that Dubai offers:

Rent-a-car in Dubai

1. The Gold Souk
There is a reason that Dubai is called the city of gold. With huge amounts of gold traded here, there are hundreds of shops selling jewellery. Even if you don’t wish to buy, just walking through the souk itself is awesome experience. Make sure bargain until you get a good price, but bear in mind that the prices vary depending on the gold rate for that day.

2. Tour of the city
The “Big Bus Tour” gives a great overview of everything in Dubai over a couple of hours. You can book your tickets even before you get to Dubai, and hop on and off the bus at the various points. The ticket now includes a separate tour which drives you to see the various hotels and the construction that is going on. The guides are very knowledgeable, and with your ticket valid for 24 hours, this could cover all tourist stuff in one go. For those into something a little different, the Wonderbus Tour drives across land, before going into the water, giving a whole different view of Dubai. Even more rock star, if you have the cash, would be to take a helicoptor tour

3. Desert Safari
Go dune bashing through the wadis of the desert, which can be alikened to the thrill of a rollercoaster. At some points you really feel as if the 4X4 that you are in going to crash over the dunes. Tours usually include the opportunity to sand surf down a large hill, watch the sunset from the camp, and have a traditional Bedouin style dinner by moonlight, often accompanied by a nubile belly danced. It’s probably enough to go for the evening, but many do the full day trip, as well as camp overnight in the tents. We recommend using Arabian Adventures.

4. Indoor Skiing
The very fact that you are in the desert and are skiing could seem a contradiction, but that is the lure to the whole experience that is Ski Dubai. With prices covering the rental of all equipment and clothing, you just need to bring yourself along.

5. Splash out on Shopping
Dubai is a shopaholics paradise, with local and international brands on offer, and sometimes at heavily discounted prices. Pick your mall depending on what you are looking for, but be sure to check out the Mall of the Emirates at least once during your trip, just for its huge size.

6. The Old Town
Bastakia represents what parts of Dubai used to be like with numerous Wind towers, a primitive air conditioning system. The area is small but is as close as you will get to a heritage area, which is a world apart from the “New Dubai” springing up not so far away.

7. Go Boating
Avoid the traffic and cross the creek using an abra, one of the small wooden boats. It costs next to nothing (50 fils) and can be included as part of your adventures through the city.

8. Burj-al-Arab
They say that whatever looks golden is gold. Whatever your take on Burj-al-Arab, it is the current symbol of Dubai’s extravagance. You’ll have to pay a fee to get in but is redeemable against food or any purchase you make. We would recommend going for afternoon tea at sahn eddar, early evening, but if you have the money and you like seafood, try out Al Manara. Make sure you dress up – the hotel has a strict dress code – this is 7 star after all.

9. Madinat Souk
The Souk at Madinat Jumeirah gives you a real feel of Arabia, and although pricey, is worth meandering through over an afternoon. After shopping, it is possible to have dinner, perhaps at PaiThai, which you must take a boat through the waterways to reach, followed by dancing off your calories at the Trilogy nightclub.

10. Wild Wild Wadi
Always a hit with the kids, wild wadi is a great water park next to Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The park has the tallest and fastest free fall outside North America, the Jumeirah Sceirah, where you supposedly reach 80kph! For those less speed inclined, there is Juha’s Journey where you can idle your way around a river. And of course, there are many in between rides and amusements.

How Watch Frozen Online Free Right Now! Great Movie!

FILED IN Great Place No Comments

How To Watch Frozen Online Free Click Here

How to watch Frozen online is something that probably millions of people are searching for online as we speak.  There is a good reason for this too, it is an awesome movie that I highly recommend , and the economy sucks so who can really afford to go to the movies anyways right?  The movie was absolutely amazing!  I honestly thought after reading the plot that the movie was gong to bomb be really corny, but it wasn’t, it was very entertaining.

Click Here To Watch Frozen Online

Frozen is a good movie that is about three snowboarders that are just having fun skiing, nothing too exciting.  But when they are on the ski lift and the ski patrol shuts down the lift, the lights, everything, they find themselves stranded.  To make matters worse, the place isn’t going to reopen for a week.  They quickly realize that they can’t sit there for a week and they must make a move.  Once they do make the move to survive, that’s when things get really interesting,  They are forced to take desperate measures and they also realize that the cold is by far not the biggest thing they have to fear!

All I can say is watch Frozen online free when you get a chance, you will not be disappointed.  There are many great places on the web to watch movies free of charge.   Many of the sites are poor quality though, but there are also some great places to watch movies free that do have a pretty good quality picture as well.  I hope you watch it because I am sure that you will enjoy the movie.

Acapulco — A Great Vacation Place for Kids

FILED IN Great Place No Comments

The popular impression of Acapulco is as a romantic getaway or a place for Spring Break parties, but in truth, the younger set also enjoys what Acapulco has to offer for a family vacation.

Beaches. The beaches inside the bay of Acapulco have waves, but they are calmer than out on the ocean front, and are just right for young children. At the beach you can take the kids on a jet ski ride, or climb aboard the big “banana.” Day trips on glass bottom boats to Isla Roqueta or excursions by boat into the bay are also good fun.

Kids’ Programs. Back at the hotel, you may find that the hotel activities desk has planned a special program just for children. Usually these activities are restricted to kids from about 6 years of age to about 12 years, and they involve pool activities, exercises, tours of the building, crafts, stories and videos. Kids’ Programs are not offered by every hotel, and usually they are set up just for high season or on weekends during the summer. If your hotel has a kids’ program, it is usually offered without additional charge.

CiCi Water Park. This water park has lots of amusements, rides, a “lazy river,” and best of all, swimming with dolphins. Delfines Paradise (with an office on Condesa Beach) also offers kids a chance to swim with dolphins in their own environment.

Parque Papagayo. Acapulco’s “central park” is a great place for strolling around, buying souvenirs and eating snacks. You can also go out in paddle boats, and the younger kids can enjoy inflated jumping equipment. A small train and a miniature bus take tours around. There is a model galleon in the lake, and lots of animals to look at. Kids enjoy feeding the ducks.

AquaPlanet. This attraction is in “La Isla” (in Acapulco’s “Diamond Zone”). Aquaplanet is an educational center for grade school children, designed to entertain as it explains about water conservation and ecology. Other options include a rock climbing wall, a large kid’s pool, mini-golf and bumper boats.

Mágico Mundo Marino is a marine museum with some water fun built in as well. It is found in between the Caleta and Caletilla beaches on the west side of Acapulco’s bay.

Other entertainment options for the kids include the malls, of course. Not only do Acapulco’s main shopping areas offer a big selection of first-run movies, but also video arcades and “fun centers.” Recorcholis is in the Gran Plaza. Another arcade is in Galerías Diana. In the Plaza Bahía shopping center there is a full-service bowling alley.

Excursions of several kinds are also in the offing. The Shotover Jet takes you in a high-speed hydrofoil along the Laguna de Tres Palos. This is a great chance to see and learn about tropical wildlife. Many families simply go to the Laguna and rent a boat for the day and go out on the lake. It is a self-guided tour to a beautiful tropical forest.

Families with older children can enjoy an historical tour, like the one of Fort San Diego, first built in 1616. There is also a small tour of the “House of Masks” near the fort, which kids in junior high and older can appreciate.

For nature lovers, the best hikes are up in the Veladero National Park, the natural, mountainous area that surrounds Acapulco.

If you take a short trip to Acapulco’s central square, or Zócalo, in the late afternoons or early evenings, you may arrive when the clowns are performing in the gazebo. If you are lucky, you will catch an impromptu show of music or dance.

Finally, browsing the local markets may be an activity that the kids will remember for a long time. The biggest is the Central Market downtown, which is busy with fish, meat and produce as well as all sorts of other merchandise. In Acapulco’s “Golden Zone” you will find several markets that cater to tourists with toys, clothing and souvenirs.

If you need the services of a babysitter while having a vacation in Acapulco, just ask at the concierge or reception desk. Almost all hotels can arrange for in-room baby sitting by a qualified person who has been screened in advance.
